Each year, the LMSC Directors honor our top travel team
coaches and one intramural coach for outstanding
contribution to the program and overall success in
adhering to the club philosophy of "providing each child
with a fun filled experience in a soccer environment."
Our Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award goes
to George Moore, head coach for the Under 9 ‘B’ Rebels
who became the first LMSC ‘B’ team ever to compete in
the Delco League’s extremely competitive First Division.
Under George’s excellent leadership, the Rebels ended
the season with a very impressive 3-4-2 record. This is
quite an accomplishment when you consider that many
club’s are only able to put their ‘A’ team in the Second
Division or Third Division.
George currently has four children playing in LMSC, three
in the travel program and one in the 5 year old boys
Atoms Division. He served for many seasons as a
Division Commissioner in the intramural program. The
LMSC Directors would like to thank George for all his
work over the years in support of the program and the
children in the program.
Our Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award goes
to Danielle Fagan, head coach for the Under 11’A’ team,
the Lightning Bolts. Danielle is a newcomer to the LMSC
program. Before coming to LMSC, she was an assistant
coach for the Villanova University Women’s Varsity for
several years. She also played Division One college
soccer.
Her excellent background as both a coach and a player
has been a great asset to the program. Her ability to
teach high level individual skills, as well as sound team
tactics have been combined with her ability to make the
learning process “fun and enjoyable” for the girls. We
would like to thank Danielle for her work and hope that
she will continue to be a part of LMSC for many years.
Our Intramural Coach Of The Year Award for 1997 goes
to a person who is actually a very valuable administrator
in the program, Dan Sutton. For many years, Dan has
run the oldest girls divisions, the Cosmos and Electrons.
In addition, he has been a coach in the Girls Travel Team
Program for many years.
Thanks to Dan’s excellent ability to organize and lead,
the Cosmos and Electrons Divisions have both greatly
increased in numbers of participants. Dan has been a
great leader in the growth of girls soccer and has helped
to make soccer one of the largest participation sports for
girls in Lower Merion Township.
We’d like to thank Dan for his excellent work over the
years as both a Division Commissioner and as a Travel
Team coach.
