Each year, the LMSC Officers honor our top travel team coaches and one intramural coach for outstanding contribution to the club as well as overall success in adhering to the club philosophy of "providing each child with a fun filled experience in a soccer environment."
Our Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award
goes to Rob Rooney, head coach for our Under 12A travel team. Rob is in his second year with the club. Before coming to LMSC, Rob had coached at the college level and high school level. Under Rob’s leadership, the LMSC Tempest has been able to play at the highest levels of play in the state. Many of the girls have developed into top level players and were selected for the EPYSA Olympic Development Program (ODP). This winter, Rob is also coaching our Under 8 girls Developmental Travel Team. With his many years of coaching experience and his great leadership with the girls, Rob has proven to be a great asset to the club. LMSC would like to recognize his great contributions by honoring him as our 2005 Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year.
Our Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award
goes to Scott Fagan, long time head coach for our Under 14 Misfits travel team. Scott has been coaching in our club for about 10 years now. Thanks to his dedication and his efforts, the Misfits have been a very successful team ever since their inception as a team in 2000. The Misfits were division one finalists in the Delco League this year. The Misfits have competed successfully in numerous tournaments. Thanks to Scott’s commitment to his players, many of the Misfits players will be ready to play at the high school level next year as freshmen. LMSC would like to thank Scott for his many years of service and his dedication to the boys that he has coached.
Our Intramural Coach Of The Year Award goes to Tom Gallagher who runs the five year old divisions (boys Atoms and girls Neutrons) on Saturdays at Gladwyne Playground. This fall was Tom’s second season helping Michael Mark run these divisions. Tom also helps run the 5 & 6 year old divisions in the Spring Intramural Program. Tom’s dedication and love of both the game of soccer and the kids he works with has made our five year old program a great success. Tom is a former Division One college player. Michael won this award in 2003. We are proud to present this award to Tom in 2005. Our thanks to both Michael and Tom.
