Each year, LMSC honors two travel team coaches and one intramural coach for outstanding contributions
to the club as well as overall success in adhering to the club philosophy
of "providing each and every child with a fun filled experience in a soccer environment."
Our Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award
goes to Julie Battista. Julie is the head coach for the Under 12C LMSC Flames. For the past five years, Julie has also worked with our Under 8 Developmental Teams, the LMSC Summer Camps and the LMSC Summer Soccer Program.
Julie is a former player at Villanova University. Her excellent knowledge of the game and her ability to work with young soccer players in a wide variety of programs has been a great asset to LMSC. We are very fortunate to have a person like Julie in the club and are proud to name her as our Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year.
Our Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award
goes to Matt Cox, head coach for the Under 9B LMSC Quick Boys team. Matt also is very active in helping to train other travel teams. He also coaches in the Under 8 Developmental Travel Team Program, the LMSC Summer Camps and the LMSC Summer Soccer Program.
Matt played at the University of Maine and St. Joseph’s University. After college, Matt played at the professional level for the South Jersey Barons, Proton FC (Malaysian Premier League), Village United (Jamaica), Quick Boys (Holland) and FC Will in the Switzerland second division. Congratulations to Matt on being named as our 2009 Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year.
Our Intramural Coach Of The Year Award goes to Kaitlyn McCaffrey who is a senior at the Friends’ Central School. Kaitlyn was named to the all Friends School League team in her junior and senior years.
Kaitlyn has worked the past three years with our 4 and 5 year old intramural divisions, helping to teach our youngest players the basic skills of the game. This fall, she also worked as the level 1 referee assignor. Her dedication and enthusiasm working with our youngest soccer players has greatly helped our youngest players to learn to have a great love of the game. LMSC would like to thank Kaitlyn for her excellent work by honoring her as the 2009 LMSC Intramural Coach Of The Year.
