Each year, LMSC honors two travel team coaches and one intramural coach for outstanding contributions to the club as well as
overall success in adhering to the club philosophy of "providing each and every
child with a fun filled experience in a soccer environment."
Our Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award
goes to
Nico Severini, head coach for our Under 9A girls team, the LMSC Fenix, as well as head coach for our Under 18 girls
team, the LMSC Charge. This fall, the Fenix played in the PAGS League's first division and finished with a very impressive record of
7 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie. The Fenix also won the LMSC Thanksgiving Tournament and did well in their other tournaments. Nico has been
head coach for the Charge for many years. Through his efforts, almost all of the players on that team have gone on to have very
successful high school careers. Nico is also the head coach for the Lower Merion High School boys varsity team who finished tied for
second place in the Central League. Nico led the Aces to the District Championship in 2010. Nico also is very active in coaching
many of our different training programs throughout the year. Congratulations to Nico on being named the 2012 LMSC Girls Travel Team
Coach Of The Year.
Our Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award
winner is Jared Harris. This is Jared's first year coaching in LMSC. He is the head coach for the LMSC Red Devils, our Under 9B boys
travel team. It is rare that a B team is able to compete in the top division of a travel league. Under Jared's leadership, the Red Devils
finished in third place in the Delco Soccer League's Under 9 division 1. The Red Devils finished with a very impressive record of six wins,
three losses and one tie. Jared has done a great job of developing his players and now has his team playing up a year in the YSC Sports
Under 10 indoor league. Jared played for Temple University and now works for YSC Sports. As a youth player Jared played for the very
successful PA Classics club, based in Lancaster. Jared's dad is the President of the club so Jared grew up in a very strong soccer environment.
LMSC would like to thank Jared for his work so far in LMSC and recognize his work by naming him our 2012 LMSC Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year.
Our Intramural Coach Of The Year Award
goes to long time LMSC travel team coach Dale Haines. Dale has helped coach the LMSC Magic (our U-15A boys travel team) for many years. While
with the Magic, the team has won two outdoor state championships, one indoor state championship and three Delco League division one championships.
This fall, Dale joined our intramural coaching staff and worked with our Pee-Wees Division (four year old) players. Working with the Pee-Wees
is a very demanding job as we have about 290 players in the age group every year. This is where many of our players get their start in soccer.
LMSC has worked to bring in a very experienced staff of coaches to ensure that these players get off to good starts in their soccer careers.
Dale also served as the level 1 referee assignor, ensuring that the Pee-Wees Division and our five year old divisions all have enough referees
each weekend. Dale is also active this winter, coaching several of our different training programs that we offer.
LMSC would like to thank Dale for all of his work with LMSC by naming him our 2012 LMSC Intramural Coach Of The Year. Hopefully Dale will continue
for many more years working with our younger age groups and with our training programs.
