2013 COACH OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Each year, LMSC honors two travel team coaches and one intramural coach for outstanding contributions to the club as well as overall success in adhering to the club philosophy of "providing each and every child with a fun filled experience in a soccer environment."

Our Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award winner is Jaclyn McGlone, head coach for the LMSC Devils (U-11B girls) and the LMSC Fear (U-12B girls). This is Jaclyn's sixth year coaching in the girls Travel Team Program. Her commitment and dedication to the girls on her team has been tremendous. She is well liked and greatly respected by her players. This fall, the Fear finished the PAGS League season with the top record in their division. Jaclyn has a very strong playing background, she was a four year starter at division one Temple University where she received Atlantic 10 Rookie Of The Week honors as a freshman and later Atlantic 10 Player Of The Week honors. In high school, Jaclyn earned All-Catholic League honors four years in a row. Congratulations to Jaclyn on being named the 2013 LMSC Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year.

Our Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award winner is Shawn Boney, head coach for the LMSC Kixx (U-11D boys) and head coach for the LMSC Flash (U-11C girls). This is Shawn's third year as a head coach in the LMSC Travel Team Program. Shawn has done an excellent job working with players on the Kixx team and getting them to move up to higher level teams in future seasons. His ability to develop players' skills, knowledge of the game and love of the game has been tremendous. In 2013, Shawn led the U-11 Kixx to the Delco League finals. Shawn played professionally for 13 years, including several years for the Philadelphia Kixx indoor team. Shawn played for the Trinidad & Tobago Men's National Team. Shawn played for Trinidad & Tobago in the Under 20 World Cup in 1991. Shawn was first team All American (Division II) at Southern Connecticut State University and helped them win the NCAA Division II national championship. Shawn was also head coach for Germantown Friends High School varsity team. LMSC would like to thank Shawn for his excellent work and dedication with both the Kixx and the Flash. It is our pleasure to name him LMSC Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year.

Our Intramural Coach Of The Year Award goes to Jennifer Gangl. Jen helps coach in our four year old program (PeeWees division) as well as our five year old programs (Atoms and Neutrons divisions) in the spring and the fall intramural seasons. Jen is also a staff coach for LMSC, working with many of our players who sign up for our training programs offered throughout the year. As a youth player, Jen played for the LMSC Stingrays, an 'A' level travel team, for many years. She later was a star player for Radnor High School and then West Chester University. Jen has an excellent ability to motivate and teach our young players and has been a tremendous asset the past several years with respect to developing our younger players' skills and instilling a love of the game in each player. LMSC is happy to name her as our LMSC Intramural Coach Of The Year. We hope that she will be coaching at LMSC for many more years.
