Each year, LMSC honors two travel team coaches and one intramural coach for outstanding contributions to the club as well as
overall success in adhering to the club philosophy of "providing each and every
child with a fun filled experience in a soccer environment."
Our Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award winner is Pete Gangl,
head coach for the LMSC Storm (U-18 Girls) and LMSC Impact (U-12 Girls). Pete has been coaching at
LMSC for 15 years now. In May, the LMSC Storm won the
state championship for the second straight year. It was also the fourth straight year that the Storm were in the state finals. The
Storm advanced to the Region One Championships, contested for by all of the state champions from Maine through West Virginia. The Storm
reached the semifinals of the competition. This winter, the Storm are playing in the National League, comprised of the 16 top teams
in the United States. The team has already traveled to North Carolina for National League games and will travel to Florida in January
for additional games. Pete also did a great job with the LMSC Impact, leading the Impact to the state finals. The Impact also compete
at very high levels of play and have done a tremendous job under Pete's leadership.
Congratulations to Pete on being named the LMSC Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year. This is the second time Pete has won the award,
the first time being in 2006.
Our Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award winner is Kazim Weekes,
head coach for the LMSC Bobcats (U-10B boys) and head coach for the LMSC Revolution (U-18B boys).
As a youngster, Kaz was captain of the Trinidad & Tobago Under 14 team. He also played on the T & T Under 17 National Team and the
Under 20 National Team. Kaz has done an excellent job with his two travel teams, helping them to learn the game and develop a
tremendous passion for playing the game. His Under 10 Bobcats finished the fall season with an undefeated season in Central League

Our Intramural Coach Of The Year Award goes to Anthony Haines.
Anthony grew up playing in LMSC and was a long time member of the LMSC Magic who won a pair of state championships during his time
on the Magic. Anthony is now coaching in LMSC, working with our youngest age groups at Gladwyne Playground in the fall (our 4 and 5
year olds) and at Penn Wynne Park in the spring (our 5 and 6 year olds). Anthony coaches a wide range of training programs. He is
at Starfinder every Sunday in the winter months, working with a wide range of LMSC players in our training programs. LMSC has many
former travel team players come back and get involved in coaching. We are very grateful that Anthony is coaching in our club and
are proud to honor him as our 2017 Intramural Coach Of The Year.
