COACH OF THE YEAR AWARDS

FALL 2023 COY WINNERS ANNOUNCED

LMSC honors two travel team coaches and one intramural coach at the end of each season as Coach Of The Year winners. In the fall of 2023, LMSC added a new "Assistant Travel Team Coach Of The Year" Award. Our Award winners are recognized for outstanding contributions to the club as well as overall success in adhering to the club's philosophy of "providing each and every child with a fun filled experience in a soccer environment."

Our Fall, 2023 Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award winner is Ryan Hartzell, head coach for our girls Under 11 LMSC Heart White team and girls Under 12 LMSC Dash White team. Ryan stepped up for the club and took over Dash White on a day's notice this summer after the current coach unexpectedly resigned. Ryan was a perfect fit for the situation with his calm and composed demeanor. He quickly established an excellent rapport with the Dash White girls and, like with all his LMSC teams, does a great job in developing his players technical and tactical skills in a fun and supportive soccer environment. Ryan has been with LMSC for many years now and will hopefully be with us for many more years. Congratulations to Ryan for being named LMSC Girls Travel Team Coach of the Year.

Our Fall, 2023 Boys Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award winner is James Huth, head coach for our boys U-11 LMSC Rams team. The Rams had 4 wins, 3 ties and only 1 loss in the Central League, finishing in second place. James is a highly dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic coach and gives 110% to his players and team. James also frequently reaches out to our Directors for feedback and on ways to improve his training sessions and coaching methodology. A hallmark of a great coach is one who is constantly learning and bringing new knowledge to their players. James sets a great example to his players with his dedication, work ethic, passion for the game, and constant drive to do better every time he steps on the field. James played for many years in LMSC (then under the name of Gladwyne Soccer Club) and was a standout goalkeeper for Harriton High School. James fills in on occassion to help coach our club's goalkeepers during our weekly goalkeeper training sessions. Congratulations to James for being named LMSC Boys Travel Team Coach of the Year.

Our Fall, 2023 Assistant Travel Team Coach Of The Year Award winner is Jenna Leonzi, assistant coach for the Under 11 girls Heart Red team. Jenna has been coaching in LMSC for a year now and has done a tremendous job in turning the Heart Red team into a team that successfully competes against almost every 'A' team in the state. This fall, Heart Red finished with a 6-1-1 league record, good for the top spot in the Central League's first division. The team has two wins and a tie so far in the Central League winter league and is competing well in the YSC Winter Indoor League. Jenna creates a tremendous work environment for the girls and greatly adds to the very tight team unity and bonding enjoyed by the team. Jenna graduated from St. Joseph's University in 2022 where she was a four year varsity player for their division one program. Prior to that, Jenna played for many years in the Lehigh Valley United club and was captain for her Parkland High School team in Allentown where she ranks fifth in the program in career assists. Congratulations to Jenna for being named LMSC Assistant Travel Team Coach of the Year and for making such a huge difference in the lives of the players who she coaches.

Our Fall, 2023 Intramural Coach Of The Year Award goes to Abby Reger. This was Abby's first year as a head coach, but did a tremendous job leading her team, thanks to her tremendous playing experience in soccer. Abby played for many years in the LMSC travel team program. She has played the last several fall seasons at Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in Villanova. This coming fall, she will be taking her talents to Dartmouth University where she plans to play on their NCAA Division One women's team. Congratulations to Abby on being named LMSC Intramural Coach Of The Year and best of luck to you in your playing career and coaching career.
