September 10, 2009 - Lower Merion Magic (U12A Boys) finished their pre-season tournament schedule by winning the highly competitive Lou Ramos Labor Day tournament in Allentown. Magic recovered from some tough calls in their first game versus FC DELCO (ended in a 2-2 draw) and some key injuries to win their group, beat Lehigh Valley United in the semi- finals and win a tough 2-0 game versus PDA in the Finals.

In addition to their success in Allentown, Magic also captured 2nd place in the top division of the Spirit Kick-Off Classic in Downingtown in mid-August, which comprised the current #1 ranked teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Virginia. This second placed finish qualified Magic for the Volkswagen Jr National Championship in Washington DC in October. The winner of this tournament receives a free trip to South Africa to play in an International tournament a few weeks prior to the World Cup in 2010.
