May 21, 2011 - On Saturday May 21, 2011 the Lower Merion Soccer Club Panthers players and families participated in the inaugural “Nick Smiles on the Fine Arts 5k Challenge and 1 mile walk” supporting the “Nick Smiles on the Fine Arts Foundation”.  As a sign of unity and support the LMSC Panthers wore their practice uniforms, started, and finished the race together as a team. 

The Mullin family was very thankful for the more than 250 individuals who took part in the event raising thousands of dollars as well as creating a supportive, fun, and friendly atmosphere throughout the day, something that was just as important to the family as the money that was raised.  This is the first of many charitable events the Panthers plan to be involved in as they transition from your basic soccer team to a community outreach team committed to being active in many worth-while causes. 

The Nick Smiles on the Fine Arts Foundation was created in memory of Nick Mullin who passed away May 8, 2010 after a courageous four year battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer.
