GREMIO (U-12B BOYS) WIN ROSS HANEY LABOR DAY TOURNAMENT

September 5, 2011 - LMSC Gremio U-12 was no match for its opponents at the Ross Haney Labor Day Tournament. Finalist last year, Gremio showed a lot of determination to get the 1st place this season and with outstanding defensive play throughout the weekend, the boys ended the day lifting the trophy. Gremio didn’t face any challenges on Saturday, not conceding a single goal and scoring 16 goals in two games. The boys defeated Cherry Hill FC Tsunami and Yardley Makefield Soccer United Force, both games by the same score: 8-0. On Sunday, Gremio cruised past the semi-finals beating Washington Township United by the score of 5-1. In the championship game, Gremio played the event hosts Philadelphia Soccer Club Boca Jrs. Gremio jumped to a 3-0 lead after a sensational start, and despite having 2 PKs against, was able to hold off the lead for a 4-2 final win. Gremio is coach by Mauricio Matusiak. Well done boys.
