September 2, 2012 -
Congratulations to the LMSC Motor Mouths, our U-9A Boys travel team, on winning the Ross Haney Labor Day Weekend Tournament, hosted
by the Philadelphia Soccer Club. The Motor Mouths won their preliminary round games 2-0, 8-1 and 6-0. The three wins put them into
the championship game against the host team, Philadelphia SC Future.
LMSC's Sebastian Tis opened the scoring when he kicked in a rebound from a free kick taken by Asher Laackman. Philly SC tied the game
just before halftime. LMSC came out storming in the second half, taking the second half kickoff down the field and scoring nine
seconds into the second half as Tis and Laackman took the ball down the field with some great passing.
Midfielders Zion Scarlett, Anthony Derk, Logan Jacobs, Andrew Johnson, Torin McClave
and Noah Simone-Dobin were relentless in the second half and kept
the attack going all afternoon. When the final whistle sounded, the Motor Mouths earned a hard fought 5-2 win over a very talented
Philadelphia Soccer Club Futures team.
Defenders David Litvin and Nathan "Badway" Bradway were excellent throughout the tournament, as was goalkeeper Sammy "King Kong" Kao.
The Motor Mouths allowed only three goals in their four games.
