May 18, 2013 - The Lower Merion Fenix earned the title of State Champions after winning a thrilling 3-2 overtime championship game over HMMS (Harrisburg area) who won the Indoor State Cups in the winter.

The Fenix controlled play in the first half, and went up 1-0 after on a PK by Olivia. It was back and forth the entire second half, with HMMS tying it at 1-1 with about 5 minutes to go. The teams headed to two 10 minute overtime sessions, with the Fenix dominating. The hard work was rewarded when Josie Becker scored the go-ahead goal in the first OT period, and then Hannah broke through and buried an upper 90 shot in the second OT to put LMSC up 3-1. HMMS scored a late goal to cut it to 3-2 with about three minutes to play, but the Fenix held on for a hard fought and well-deserved victory. Congratulations to head coach Nico Severini at the Fenix members.
