September 1, 2013 - The LMSC U-9 Ding headed to Philly over the Labor Day weekend to play in the 2013 Philadelphia SC- Ross Haney Tournament. The Ding boys captured the U-9 Championship flight title with an overall record of 3 wins and 1 tie.

The U-9 Ding played to a 4-4 draw in their opening match against a tough Lighthouse team and finished up the day with a 7-1 win over the Ukrainian Nationals. On Sunday, the U-9 Ding came out firing and beat the VE Gunners 10-2 which placed the boys in the final. The final saw the Ding boys matched-up against a tough and very talented Philly SC Gunners team. After a tense first half that ended with the LMSC boys up 1-0, the game ended with a 4-0 score. This was the first tournament Championship for the U-9 Ding and only the second tournament for the boys. On August 24 & 25, the U-9 Ding boys played together for the first time in the West Mont- Battle at Hilltop Tournament and won 2 games and tied 1 game, playing in the top bracket of the U-10 age group.
