LMSC VENOM (U-13B BOYS)
WIN WEST DEPTFORD, NJ THANKSGIVING TOURNAMENT

November 30, 2014 - The LMSC Venom (U-13B boys) won the West Deptford Soccer Tournament in New Jersey this past weekend. The boys faced The Washington Township Hurricanes early Friday morning. The Hurricanes fought hard against our boys, but in the end proved no match for our Venom squad. With only 11 players, the Venom was victorious with a score of 5-0.

On Saturday, the boys arrived early in the frigid morning temperatures to play two games on Saturday. First up was The Barrington Arsenal. Arsenal came ready to play & took an early lead of 1-0. Our boys rallied & came back to win by a score of 6-1. Next up, Venom faced Highland Revolution. Venom was behind early in the match, but quickly warmed up & won by a score of 8-0. Since they won all three games in their bracket, they advanced to the championship game.

On Sunday, the Venom were ready for the championship game against FC Brandywine Premier, who also won their bracket. This was the Venom's toughest game yet. Both teams came out ready to play, but FC Brandywine took the lead early on. Going into halftime, Venom was down 1-0. They rallied & tied the game at 1-1, but Brandywine scored again. Down 2-1 in the second half, Venom came back & scored a goal. With the score tied at 2-2, Venom scored again. Our boys held off the other team in the final minutes and won by a score of 3-2.

Every Venom player contributed to the teams championship. They played with determination and amazing teamwork all weekend. A special thanks to our guest players from The Aztecs who helped our team this weekend.

Congratulations to Coach Gabe Betancourt & The Venom players on an amazing tournament!
