May 16, 2015 - On Saturday, May 16, the LMSC Fenix, our U-11A girls team, were crowned state cup champions. This is the second state cup championship for the Fenix in three years. This year in state cup play, the Fenix won all six of their state cup games, en route to the state championship. The Fenix outscored their opponents 24 to 3, while compiling three shutouts.

In group play they defeated PA Rush, FC Europa, HMMS (last year's state champions) and Wyoming Valley to advance to the knockout stage. In the semifinals, they defeated Horsham 2-1 to advance to the state championship game where they easily defeated Lower Dauphin (Harrisburg) LDC 6-1.

In the championship game, Olivia Curry opened up the scoring for the Fenix. Her goal was followed by goals from Hannah Blodget (2), Keara Pizarro, Lily Weiss, and Clara Page. The Fenix were anchored in goal by Devon Kennedy.

The girls played a high level of soccer and demonstrated that they are developing and progressing as soccer players and as a team.

Congratulations to the team on a great year! The Fenix are coached by Nico Severini and assisted by George Severini with goalie training from Chuck Curry.
