LMSC ALUM KEVIN LAWSON LEADS TUFT UNIVERSITY
TO NCAA DIVISION THREE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

December 5, 2016 - Tufts University defeated Calvin College in double overtime to win the NCAA Division 3 National Championship. This was Tuft's second D3 National Championship in the last three years. Long time LMSC player and Harriton High School graduate Kevin Lawson helped give Tufts the championship. Lawson played for the LMSC Cannibals and the LMSC Panthers.

"In 2014, it was just an amazing feeling to have had that success," noted Lawson, who played high school soccer at Harriton and spent his entire club career with Lower Merion SC. "This year, the success was doubly fun, since it was driven by the understudies from 2014 that weren't necessarily expected to have big successes ahead. And the fact that we were underdogs throughout both runs made it even sweeter, since every game really felt like it could easily be the last."
