LMSC will again run their Summer Program for travel team players who want to train during the summer months and play in local area tournaments.
This year, we are expanded to rising or current Sporting PA players. Sporting PA is a partnership between LMSC, FC Europa and Radnor SC.
OVERVIEW
- Each age group is led by one LMSC/Sporting PA 'A' team coach in training sessions and games with support from other travel team coaches as needed. We will hire their most experienced coaches to lead each age group.
- Training sessions will run for six weeks, starting June 17th and going until August 2nd. We will take off the week of July 4th.
- The cost of the LMSC summer travel team jersey will be covered in registration fees. This jersey will be different from the normal LMSC travel team jerseys. This jersey will be needed for practices as well as the tournaments.
- TRAINING ONLY OPTION: The Summer Program also offers a "training only" option for players who want to participate in the training portion of the program and not play in the tournaments. We will only be offering "training only" options for the 2010 and older age groups. The training sessions are intended to prepare players for the high school season.
- TOURNAMENT ONLY OPTION: This is for players that want to play only in one or both tournaments. Fees also cover attending the two training sessions leading up to the tournament and jersey top.
WHO
- Boys teams and girls travel team players with birth years 2007 through 2017. This includes new travel team players who are selected for a travel team at tryouts in April - May for the following year.
- Intramural players and Developmental Academy players will NOT be accepted into this program.
- Players from travel teams outside of LMSC are welcome.
- We don't have tryouts!!! Any travel team player from any club is eligible!!!!
WHEN AND WHERE
- This is a six-week program, starting June 17th and running through August 2nd. The program will not run 4th of July week. August 6th and 10th will be used for makup dates.
- Two practices a week: Tuesdays and Thursdays at Barrack Hebrew Academy turf field or Rosemont School of the Holy Child turf fields. There will be a 5:30-7 PM session and a 7:00-8:30 PM session.
- EDP Tournament July 27-28 weekend in Central New Jersey.
- West Chester Summer Classic Tournament August 10-11 weekend in West Chester PA.
- Note: Tournament schedules may change, based on scheduling by the tournament organizers.
STAFF
COSTS (no change from Summer 2023!!!!)
The cost for the Summer Tournament Team Program includes:
- Insurance
- Coaching fees
- Tournament entry fees
- Field Rental fees
- Training/Game top
- Costs:
- Full program: $500
- Training only: $400
- Tournament only: $150 per tournament (includes two training session before the tournaments)
- Current LMSC players may wear their current LMSC shorts and game socks. Players, including non-LMSC travel team players, may wear generic navy shorts and navy socks. Players will be responsible for getting these items on their own.
SIGN UP INFORMATION
- Only travel team player born between 2007 and 2017 may sign up.
- A deposit of $150 is required when applying. LMSC Vice President Dale Haines will e-mail all players and parents with
more details after the player registers. Balance is due prior to the start of the program via check (payable to LMSC
and mailed to Dale Haines, 108 Harrogate Road, Wynnewood, PA 19096) or Venmo (Meghan Moore-LMSC @MegMooreLMSC) with no bank fees.
- Travel team players from outside of LMSC are welcome to sign up. Players MUST have a current travel team player pass
to participate in the tournaments.
- Many age groups sold out early in 2022 so register early!!!!!
- No refunds will be given after June 1st as we need to commit financially to coaches, field rentals, tournaments, and jerseys.
