The LMSC TEN YEAR AWARD is presented to those people who have coached in the LMSC Travel Team Program for ten years or more. The club is proud to honor those coaches
who have given a decade or more of service to the club.
GABE BETANCOURT - Gabe began coaching in LMSC in 1995. Gabe has won the LMSC Boys Coach Of The Year Award (2015) and the LMSC Girls Coach Of The Year Award (2001).
In 2007, his Under 17 Riptide girls team were US Club Northeast Region champions and competed at US Club Nationals in Greensboro, NC.
Gabe has coached both girls and boys high school varsity, travel ages Under 9 through Under 18, and intramurals.
Gabe holds a USSF National B license and the NSCAA Goalkeeper certificates I&II. Gabe was All-Catholic selection and a team captain at Archbishop Carroll many years ago.
PETE GANGL - Pete began coaching in LMSC in 2001, he currently serves as assistant Girls Travel Team Director of Coaching (DOC).
Pete's first team was the LMSC Stingrays. Several LMSC Stingrays players later went on to play at the college level. Pete later
coached the LMSC Mustangs boys team, helping many of those players play at the college level.
Pete has led the LMSC
Storm (2000 birth girls) to three state championships (U-16, U-17 and U-18). He began coaching the Storm when they were in the
LMSC Developmental Academy. The Storm were Regional semifinalists in 2016 and qualified for the prestigious National League
in 2018. Pete
also coaches the LMSC Impact (2006 birth girls). Before coaching the Storm, Pete was head coach for the LMSC Mustangs boys
team. Similar
to the Stingrays team, many Mustangs players went on to play at the college level.
RASHEED EPPS - Rasheed was our Girls Travel Team Director of Coaching (DOC) for over 10 years. He was a coach at LMSC
from 2005 - 2018, before moving to Texas. During his time at LMSC, Rasheed coached many travel teams, most notably the
LMSC Herricanes who were state cup finalists in 2012. Rasheed was voted the LMSC Girls Travel Team Coach Of The Year in 2010.
Rasheed was the assistant coach for the Rosemont College Men's Varsity team for several years. Rasheed earned All league
honors in high school. He later
played for the Millersville University Men's team, Montco Azzuri Men's team (1998 regional semifinalists) and PA Rush Over 30
Men's team (2008 regional semifinalists).
Rasheed has been coaching youth soccer for over 20 years.
MIGUEL NUILA - Miguel first came to LMSC in 1999. During his time at LMSC, he has coached numerous teams, most notably the LMSC Velez. Miguel first coached this
group in 1999 when they were the Under 8 Developmental Team. Many of the Velez players began playing at the college level in the fall of 2010. The Velez were still
playing in the summer of 2011, playing in the Under 20 Super League, one of the top amateur leagues in the nation. Along the way, Miguel led the team to several state
titles and Region I championships. The team qualified for the National Championships twice. With the Velez team heading off to college, Miguel took over the LMSC Sarsfield team in 2010.
NICO SEVERINI - Nico began coaching at LMSC in 2005 and is still active coaching at LMSC in 2018. During that time, he has coached many girls travel teams. Nico
is also the head coach for the Lower Merion High School boys varsity team.
In 2017, Nico led the Furia to the EPYSA Indoor State Cup championship.
In 2015 and 2013, Nico led the LMSC Fenix to the EPYSA State Championship.
Nico led Lower Merion High School to the 2010 District One Championship. He was voted
Central League Coach Of The Year in 2016.
In 2013, Nico led the Lower Merion boys to a 16-0-0 record during the regular season with the team recording 15 shutouts.
Nico was voted LMSC Travel Team Coach Of The Year in 2012.
As a youth, Nico was on the Region One USA team and in the National team pool.
In high school, Nick was voted the Central League Player Of The Year and was a high school regional All-American
and All-State selection.
As a youth player, his FC Delco club team qualified for nationals three times. He was a four year player at the
University of Pennsylvania (Ivy League champions). Nico is also a head coach for the EPYSA Olympic Development Program
as well as the Region One USA Olympic Development Program (ODP).
NIKKI POSILLICO-EPPS - Nikki joined the LMSC coaching staff in 2000, after playing for the Villanova University Women's Team. Nikki has served as head coach for
many LMSC girls travel teams and has been a club officer, treasurer and bookkeeper for many years. Nikki founded the very popular LMSC Summer Travel Team Program back in 2002
and ran that program for many years. In 2011 she became head coach for the new Under 9A LMSC Thunderbolts and coached them for six years. Nikki retired from
LMSC in 2017 when she moved away to Texas.
WILL NORD - Will played in LMSC for many years and was a member of the LMSC Gorillas who won the Under 13 Indoor and Outdoor State Championships in 1990. After
graduating from college, Will returned to LMSC in 2000 and served as assistant coach to the LMSC Roadkill (U-11 state champions in 2004). Will has served as head coach
for numerous LMSC travel teams since then. He is currently the head coach for the LMSC Denali (2009 and 2011 state finalists). In 2006, Will led his FC Delco Under 17 team
to the state championship, Region I championship a third place finish at Nationals. In 2008, Will was named as the first ever head coach for the Rosemont College Men's Varsity. He
was voted Conference Coach Of The Year. Will also was head coach for the Cardinal O'Hara boys varsity for three years.
