In recent years, our organization has made a significant change in the makeup of our Travel Team’s coaching staff.
Many years ago, coaches in our Travel Team Program were all parent volunteers, some with a decent soccer background as a player or coach, others with little soccer experience.
Today, the majority of our Travel Teams have non-parent coaches with significant soccer backgrounds as players and / or coaches.
Our club continues to migrate to having more and more non-parent coaches on our staff. These coaches are not volunteers so the cost of playing travel team soccer is higher.
But, in our opinion, the development of top players has increased dramatically in recent years. Below is a brief look at the soccer backgrounds of some of our travel team coaches:
Michael Cerrato (U-12B boys coach) - Played for Lake Grove club team (two time Long Island champions), nationally ranked Chaminade High School and Saint Joseph’s University. Was an assistant coach for Eleanor Roosevelt High School girls varsity in Maryland. Has coached youth soccer for five years.
Jaclyn Conn (U-12B girls coach) - At Cardinal O’Hara high school, Jaclyn received All-Catholic League honors four years in a row. Earned All-Delco area honors three years and was a member of the Delaware County All Stars for four years. Was a four year starter at Temple University where she received A-10 Rookie of the week honors in her freshman year and later earned Atlantic 10 player of the week honors.
Adrian Cox (U-12A boys coach) - Played for the LMSC Gorillas for five years (1990 state champions). Later played for the FC Delco Force, the ODP Program and the Region One Team. Was Central League MVP and All State at Haverford High. Played four years at the University of Richmond. Coached at Drury University and Bradley University (NCAA top 25 team). Head coach for the FC Delco Hammerheads (2006 National Finalists, 2007 third place in nationals). His LMSC Lightning team were Under 10 state champions in 2007. Adrian has also been the head coach for the Episcopal Academy men’s team since 2004.
Matt Cox (U-13C boys coach) - Played at the University of Maine and St. Joseph’s University. Played professionally for the South Jersey Barons, Proton FC (Malaysian Premier League), Village United (Jamaica), Quick Boys (Holland) and FC Will (Switzerland second division). Has been coaching in our U-8 program for three years.
Charlie Dodds (U-11B boys coach) - Leading scorer at Cabrini College. Has coached youth soccer for 14 years. Was the head coach for West Chester East High School boys varsity (2005 state finalists). Has also coached at Conestoga High School and at The Haverford School. Was a league select coach for many years in both Delco Soccer League and the girls PAGS League. Is the owner and President of Rocket Sports in Wayne.
Ted Domers (U-10B boys coach) - Member of the LMSC Lunatics (1994 state champions, scored in the state championship game). Four year starter at Akiba Hebrew Academy, was an all conference selection. Four year starter at Goucher College and captain as a senior. Upon graduation in 2005 Ted joined the LMSC coaching staff.
Nicole Posillico Epps (U-9B girls coach) - All county and all state honors in high school. Her club team, CT Omni were national champions in 1994 and national finalists in 1995. Four year member of the Villanova University Women’s team. Head coach for the LMSC Shock travel team for six years, founder and original head of the LMSC Summer Soccer Program for travel team players. Helped form the LMSC Under 8 Developmental Travel Team Academy.
Rasheed Epps (U-9B girls coach) - All league honors in high school, played for the Millersville University Men’s team, Montco Azzuri Men’s team (1998 regional semifinalists), PA Rush Over 30 Men’s team (2008 regional semifinalists). Rasheed has been coaching youth soccer for over 20 years.
Danielle Fagan (U-12A girls coach) - Has coached for over 15 years, including the club, high school, ODP and college levels. Played at Villanova University and was later an assistant coach there. Head coach for Conestoga High School girls varsity for four years, compiling a record of 76-12-3, winning three league championships, a district championship and the state championship in 2007. NSCAA State and Regional Coach of the Year and nominated for their NSCAA National Coach of the Year Award. Southeastern Pennsylvania Coaches Association Coach Of The Year and twice Main Line Times and Main Line Life Coach of the Year.
Mike Falsetta (U-9C boys coach) - Has been coaching soccer for over 12 years. Was the freshman coach at Roman Catholic High School for five years and has been the JV coach the past two years. In 2001, Mike was voted the EPYSA intramural coach of the year. He later coached in the Lighthouse club, led his team to the Leagues United state championship and a second place finish in the EPYSA state cups.
Steve Fraser (U-11A girls coach) - A product of the Brighton and Hove Albion youth system, Steve played for several professional youth academies in England. Currently a goalkeeper coach in both the EPYSA Olympic Development Program and the Region One ODP Program. Has coaching certifications from various groups in both England and the USA. Is a coach for the Philadelphia Liberty of the WPSL and also the PAGS Elite Player Development Program.
Rachel Gallegos (U-10B girls coach) - California North Olympic Development Program. Four year All Conference selection in high school. Four year player at Clemson University, making two Elite 8 appearances in the NCAA tournament. Has coached at the high school level and recently earned her USYSA ‘D’ level coaching license.
David “DJ” Jones (U-14A boys coach) - Played in the Wimbledon Football Club in London where he made it to the final 150 players selected for the England National School of Excellence (out of 20,000 players). He later played semi-professionally in England where he also served as a youth coach. DJ came to the Philadelphia area in 1997 and coached for the LMSC Rage girls team (two time state cup finalists) for many years. He was captain of the Villanova University Men’s Team and later served as the assistant coach at Villanova for three years.
Matt Moran (U-13A boys coach) - All state selection at Monsignor Bonner High School. Four year starter and two year captain at Temple University. Coached two seasons at Episcopal Academy and one season at Delaware Valley College. Currently assistant coach for the FC Delco Hammerheads (2007 Regional champions and third place at nationals) and 2008 state champions.
Grant Myers (U-10A boys coach) - Grant played for the Lock Haven University’s Men’s team before moving on to play semiprofessionally for many years. Was the JV coach at Harriton High School for three years. Currently the assistant coach for Lower Merion High School (2007 Central League champions and District One champions). Assistant coach for nationally ranked FC Delco U-14 boys team and head coach for the U-10 LMSC Rat Pack who won the Delco League division one title, the indoor state championship and were second in the 2008 state cups.
Will Nord (U-9A boys coach) - Played for the LMSC Gorillas, 1990 indoor and outdoor state champions. Has been coaching in LMSC for eight years (LMSC Roadkill and LMSC Nimrods). Was head coach in the FC Delco Program where his Under 17 team were state champions, regional champions and national finalists in 2007. Was a head coach at Cardinal O’Hara for several years. Currently the assistant coach for Bayard Rustin High School.
Melissa Persaud (U-10C girls coach) - Long time member of the Iowa Olympic Development Program (ODP). In high school, was selected to the All Metro Soccer Team for Sioux City, Iowa. Played four years on the Penn State University Women’s Club team. Her team was NIRSA National Champions in 2001. She was also an NIRSA All American selection.
Katie Pisoni (U-11C girls coach) - Four year starter in high school, named All Catholic League three years and was League MVP as a senior. As a youth player, she played in tournaments in Ireland and England. Division one scholarship athlete at Drexel University and played there until a she had a career ending knee injury in her junior year. She has been coaching travel team soccer since 2003.
Ryan Sekkes (U-9B boys coach) - Four year starter at West Chester University, two time captain and school’s all time leading scorer. Three time All-American and 2002 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Player Of The Year. Assistant coach at West Chester University two years. Has coached youth soccer for seven years and won a state championship in 2007.
Paul Seip (U-10A girls coach) - Played youth soccer for Council Rock, team was state champions at Under 15. Four year varsity player at William Tennant High School (all league and all southeastern Pennsylvania team). Played at Bowling Green University, was the team point leader in his freshman season.
Nick Severini (U-13A girls coach) - As a youth, was on the Regional team and National pool. Central League Player Of The Year and high school All-American. Played internationally in Spain and Argentina. FC Delco club team were national champions. Four year player at University of Pennsylvania (Ivy League champions). Current head coach for Plymouth Whitemarsh Boys Varsity and EPYSA State Coach.
Biff Sturla (U-8 boys coach) - President of LMSC, has coached in the club for 26 years. Played in the club for many years before that.
Teams have won 13 State Championships, three Regional Championships and coached one National Finalist.
2006 EPYSA Coach Of The Year, NSCAA Regional Coach Of The Year and a finalist for the NSCAA National Coach Of The Year.
Head Coach for Harriton High School Boys Varsity, 2006 District One AA Champions. 2004 Del-Val League Coach Of The Year, 1999 and 2002
Main Line Life Coach Of The Year. 1999 Philadelphia Inquirer Coach Of The Year, 1997 Central League Coach Of The Year.

Mark Weinmann (U-11A boys coach) - All state goalkeeper at St. Joseph’s Prep and four time state champion with Wynnewood Soccer club (now part of LMSC). Starting goalkeeper for Boston College as a freshman. Was an assistant coach at Bridgewater State University before returning to the area and coaching in LMSC. His LMSC Arsenal team were two time state finalists. Head coach for the LMSC Magic, the 2008 Under 10 state champions. Head coach for Chestnut Hill Academy’s boys varsity, 2007 Inter-Ac league champions.
